Global Village

Global Village will be hosting artists Lucy Ellefson and Teresa S Kelly for the December ArtWalk. Lucy was married into a family with a beautiful tradition: crafting and creating beautiful Christmas spiders. Her mother in-law was a wonderfully creative artist—one of those souls who always had a project going, always making something with her hands. After she passed, Lucy picked up her supplies and began making the spiders herself, partly to feel close to her and partly to keep her legacy alive. Each spider she makes feels like a little piece of her mother in-law’s creativity moving forward in the world, and sharing this tradition lets her spirit keep shining—one bead, one wire, one story at a time. Teresa is distinctly drawn to color, especially the playful energy of complementary hues. Working primarily with acrylics, oils, and mixed media, they create texture, depth, and a compelling sense of movement in their pieces. Their art blends various techniques to capture subjects like landscapes, birds, wildlife, and country life, all inspired by a childlike wonder and deep love for nature.
