Pam Benke
Pam Benke was born into a ranching family in Montana, raised her sons in Sheridan, Wyoming and finds herself back in Montana. She has always been interested in art, when eight years old she won an art contest sponsored by a local TV station. Moderate success was realized throughout her high school years, winning prizes at county fairs and selling pieces to people in her community.
She was asked to design centerpieces for a Sheridan, Wyoming chariot racing club and it was suggested she should start selling the painted flower pots. EIGHT HUNDRED pots later, Pam decided she was on to something and RANCH GIRL DESIGNS was formed. She now offers her work on numerous, functional items, including compact mirrors, fly swatters, hairbrushes, scarves and recycled furniture. Her newest endeavor is custom painted footwear.
Over the past thirty years, Pam has sold her work in all 48 states as well as France, Germany, and Canada. She has designed centerpieces for a Presidential barbecue, participated in events for the PRCA’s Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund, Chase Hawks Memorial Rodeo, MSU (Bozeman) Rodeo team, and numerous Cowboy Gear Shows and Poetry Gatherings, Her work has been offered at many venues, including the National Finals Rodeo, National Finals High School Rodeo, Kings Saddlery, Lou Taubert Outfitters and many, many other shops and trading posts. Fringe Scarves approached Pam last year and they collaborated on a best selling scarf for that company.
Someone once described Ranch Girl Designs as a way to “Re-live the romance of the Old West through decorative, functional home furnishings.”
