Laurel J. Hansen

“Inspired by the innate sense of wonder and unconscious ability of my left hand, I still my thought process and allow it to freely paint the images of my soul.”
Laurel J. Hansen, who has worked as an architect for over four decades, has been a member of the Billings Art Association for many years. One of her supporters noted that she had consistently drawn straight lines for over four decades, but now she incorporates crooked lines into her artwork.
Laurel’s art has been exhibited at various locations in Billings, including the Yellowstone Art Museum, McCormick Cafe, CTA Art Walk, Crooked Line Cafe, Caramel Cookie Cafe, Red Lodge, Helena, and Wyoming. On of her paintings has also been displayed on the signal boxes in downtown Billings, and she received a grand prize at the Montana Fair.
In August, Laurel will be participating in the Global Village art walk, showcasing her artistic creations over the years. Her artwork encompasses oil and cold wax painting, as well as experimentation with corduroy, lace, velvet, canvas, and incorporating natural elements.
Global Village is honored to have Laurel J. Hanson as our artist for the August art walk and invites you to visit and admire her captivating and soulful works of art.
