Laura Anderson

One of the luckiest plein air artist alive, Laura currently lives in Montana near the: Beartooth Mountains, the Beartooth Highway, considered the most scenic Highway in America, the Pryor Mountains, home of their famous wild horses, East Rosebud Lake, which is at the end of the “Beaten Path, just a few hours from Paradise Valley, where the series Yellowstone was filmed, less than three hours from Yellowstone National Park and Chief Joseph Highway and five hours from Glacier National Park.

“I believe that making art is about sharing what it is to be a human being. Whether I am painting a landscape, portrait, still life or making a sculpture, I would like to bring to you the same emotion that moved me to create it in the first place. I believe that if my art can invoke in you the same feeling that caused me to make it, then I have succeeded as an artist.”

Her subjects were unsuspecting people. Mastering portrait painting by, “seeking to portray the soul”, she moved on to landscapes, as a client asked to be painted in front of a mountain scene.
